Welcome to Growing Up Harvey dot Com!

Well, after many different blog ventures I’ve finally found the one that fit me. You have people that get into blogging and try to blog about topics that they aren’t very familiar with because that’s what’s in and, they miserably fail at it. I found a topic that I know everything about and no one can tell me more about it. The topic is me!

Now I’ll tell you a little about me. I’m a 28 year old single father of two boys. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. I was in the U.S. Navy for almost 8 years. I got out of the Navy in 2007 and got my first job as an adult at the Detroit Medical Center. It seemed that I was on the fast track to success excellent paying job, new car(BMW), wife, kids, and just about anything else I wanted. One day something happened still not sure what but, my life starting taking a turn for the worse. Marriage was in shambles, not to soon after got laid off from the hospital. Things were just so screwed up.

So, anyway let’s fast forward to the present. I had to get my priorities straight. I got rid of the house, the car, the truck, and the wife. I have custody of my sons, I own my house and cars free and clear, and I’m self employed. Things are looking good now.

This blog is about my life the good, the bad, and the ugly. My everyday life and how I grew from a boy to a man. I figured there has to be someone else that has either went through the same things I have or they are currently experiencing them. I wanted to write about these things for a few reasons: 1. To get some things off my chest 2. I know there are people that can relate to my situation and maybe all they need is to see someone else that weathered the storm.
